Reaching Across Boarders Craft Show

I’ve got another craft show tomorrow, at College Jeanne-Sauve on Dakota, in St Vital.
Reaching Across Boarders is an organization that raises money for women’s projects and a school in Senegal, Africa. They are very close to having raised $100,000! Come out and help them hit that mark.
The event is from 10-3 on Saturday, November 29th, at 1128 Dakota Street.
There is a $1 admission fee, or you can pay with a canned good for Winnipeg Harvest. The event page is here. Hope to see you there!

I can’t believe how long its taken me to get these owls properly on the website. I got the tutorial back in August, but didn’t make it for a good couple of weeks later. I made a bunch for Comic Con, where they sold really well, but it took me a long time to finally photograph them, and then longer yet to actually put them up. But here they are, in all their glory! And I love them. IMG_0710I got the tutorial from The Ring Lord, and I really like it, although one step was quite difficult to follow. By now I have the tutorial memorized, and can whip one up relatively quickly. They’re a lot of fun to make – switching through the different steps feels less repetitive than a lot of my jewelry. IMG_0704I love the design – the fact that they can both stand and hang well, and without any modification needed. IMG_0711 I usually sell them on chains, to wear as a necklace, but I can also put them on keychains, and I’ve had people buy them as statuettes as well. IMG_0714Owls are $15 each.
